I (and my bank account) am very fortunate to have some very handy men in my life. My dad, father in law, and husband are so talented. I know my dad has always built things (he's renovated his entire house himself! and built his own kitchen cabinets, covered deck, and on and on) and he can fix anything. My father in law has also renovated his house (along with many of his friends' houses!) and built Miss A a really cool fort with swings and a slide. Brandon has done lots of projects with his dad and he's getting to be very handy! I can usually count on him to fix most things that are broken around the house.
When we bought this house I told Brandon that there was one condition. We would have to close in the ginormous open front rooms to make an office. He promised we could do this. Since we moved in, he has his office in a spare bedroom, and Miss A and I cannot play in the playroom because we will disturb him.
So the project went from closing in half of the large open space to closing it all in and dividing it into two rooms. We have taken the large sitting and formal dining room and made it into an office and a media room. Both rooms have french doors off the entryway.
I was a little nervous when my father in law and Brandon said they could take on this very LARGE home renovation project.
Well, they bought all the materials Friday, January 9th. Today is Sunday the 18th. They have completed a huge chunk of the project!! They still have to put texture and paint on the walls and work on trim and other details (plus a LOT of cleanup!).
Here are some before pictures.
Project in progress!!
